So it looks like filming for the new "Star Trek" film is not happening anytime this year. It's been announced, by Roberto Orci and Alex Kurtzman at Comic Con, that filming for the sequel will begin in January 2012. A few months back, Simon Pegg, who plays Scotty in the new franchise, said that filming is deffo starting sometime this October, but it now looks as though it aint.
Fans now assume that the release date, July 26th 2012, will now be change to either later in the year or even possibly moved into 2013, just like the new reboot of "Superman".
