"BOND 23" Wants Hannibal Lector As A Villain!

It seems that the producers of "BOND 23" want Anthony Hopkins as a/the main villain in the upcoming film in the British-secret agent franchise. So I wonder if Javier Bardem is still going for the role or has he left it?
There's a rumor that Hopkins may be going for the role of Blofeld. The studio are planning to make official announcements of the films cast soon.
